A warm welcome to the Millhouse Community and to other readers,
Let me repeat what I said in the May newsletter about winter illness prevention.
'Keep warm, and wash your hands frequently after visiting public places where others have contaminated surfaces from their colds and flu. Continue to supplement with Vitamin D, especially if you have avoided the summer sun by living indoors or have used protective sunscreens. Vitamin D will enhance your body's immune function and help protect against winter respiratory infections; don't forget the healing properties of turmeric.'
Free Under 13 Year Doctor & ACC visits at Millhouse
For normal 15 min consultation only.
PLEASE NOTE that extended consultations beyond 15min, requests for repeat medication prescription and extra procedures, like liquid nitrogen for removal of warts, will all be charged an additional service fee.
ARI Enrolment
We are in the second year of the At Risk Individual programme where focused remedial support is given for those with major health issues, supporting patients after hospital admissions and giving an opportunity to explore improved lifestyle choices, like eating nutritious meals, undertaking regular exercise, sharing life's stresses, and accessing community and specialist support. Those continuing in the programme will again undertake the Partners in Health questionnaire and redefine their health goals with the Practice Nurse.
Appointment Cancellation
We are still receiving late cancellation of doctor appointments where insufficient time does not allow their reallocation to other needy persons. Please give at least 2 hours' notice if you cannot attend.
This month we continue our series on foods as medicine with a review by medical student Amy Dendale on the long established health benefits of cinnamon.
