September 2015

A warm welcome to the Millhouse Community and to other readers,
I began writing this sitting in the sun, hoping the warmth would continue through spring but soon after the rain returned again. If we judge by the intensity of colds and flu illnesses we are seeing, it has been a harsh winter and spring. I hope you survived the winter maladies with the assistance of turmeric and vitamin D.
For all the gardeners it is time to think about planting and a reminder to dig in the winter mustard and lupin cover crops.

Millhouse News - Personnel Changes
Dr Daniel Quistorff has joined the medical team.
We are delighted to introduce Dr Dan, an American by birth, who trained in the Universities of California and Auckland graduating in medicine in 2008. Since that time he has primarily gained experience in hospital patient care.
Dr Dan now believes that his vocation is in primary care medicine and desires to become a specialist in family medicine.
Dr Dan has a vibrant outgoing personality and has medical interests in nutritional and natural therapies and mind–body medicine. He also is experienced in BOTOX appearance treatment and men's health.
During Dan's introductory weeks he will work closely with Dr Ric.
Dr Terese Khella, who at present consults on Tuesday and Thursday, will now also be available on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 8.00-12.00am commencing 27th October.
Dr Viji is now only available for specialist skin consultations, mole checks and surgical procedures. Please ring reception for an appointment to see her.

Remember UNDER 13's are now free for normal consultations but an additional charge will apply for extended consultations, special procedures and repeat scripts.
We are still receiving
late cancellation of doctor appointments where insufficient time does not allow their reallocation to other needy persons. Please give at least 2 hours' notice if you cannot attend.

Dr Ric responds to negative reports on taking of multivitamins, assuring patients that supplements have few side effects compared with adverse effects from taking prescribed pharmaceutical medicine.

And he continues our fascinating exploration of Food as Medicine by looking at the healing powers of garlic that have been known since ancient times.
